What is the most effective diet pill?

I had good results with a combination of brupropion and naltrexone. There is a new drug called Contrave that combines these. Of course, being new it's insanely expensive. I was already on brupropion at the maximum dose for depression, so the weight loss doctor simply added a small dose of naltrexone daily. I was able to drastically alter my diet and control my portion sizes without constant cravings and hunger that had marked my previous attempts at weight loss LeptoConnect Review.

Like I said, I made some big changes too. Switched to whole grain everything, eliminate as much processed food as possible, cut back on dairy, increase fresh and frozen fruits & vegetables, and measure everything to be sure I only eat one serving at a time. I nearly eliminated sweets at first, but now a toasted marshmallow is dessert for 25 calories when I'm a bit shy of 1000 in a day.

I started just dividing my plate up. Half veggies, 1/4 carbs, and 1/4 protein. But eventually I got a plateau. I started counting calories, aiming for 1200 a day. I also exercised every day for at least 25 min. Once again I got a plateau and found I had to reduce to 1000 a day to keep losing weight. I was on the naltrexone for 12 weeks, and still losing after the 1st 42 lbs.

However, my liver enzymes were high and the doc said to stop it until we figure out why. It would be unusual to have liver problems with such a small dose, 12.5 mg. I was worried that without it I would be unbearably hungry, but I guess my stomach shrank and I established some good habits in those 1st 3 months. I've had a few cravings, but not the hunger pains I used to get when dieting.

So, in my opinion this drug combination works, but it required a lot of commitment to change on my part too. At 241 lbs. I was lucky enough to get a referral to medical weight loss. I really don't think I could have stuck to all those changes without prescription help.
